I am looking to either get the Curado DC or the Scorpion DC. Seems like everyone likes the scorpion more. If so, why is it so much more affordable at $208 plus 10% tariff? Are there any other charges I’m missing? Why wouldn’t everyone just get one for this price over the curado?

The Scorpion is the superior reel. The exchange rate makes it a lower cost. You will not regret the purchase
JDM reels have no warranty support. If they break, you have to have them repaired at an independent reel shop. I found that a worthwhile trade-off
