Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a pop-up ice fishing tent and this one caught my eye because of the price. Ice conditions can be hit or miss from year to year where I live, so I’m hesitant to spend a ton of money, but I will if the name brand is the way to go. I spend enough time on the ice that a tent makes sense; I just want to make a smart purchase. Does anyone own (or has anyone owned) this tent? How does it hold up—does the fabric rip easily? Is it warm enough? Am I better off spending a bit more on a name-brand option? Thanks

I don’t have any experience with this one but have heard a lot of mixed reviews on the off brand houses. Everything from hubs breaking, fabric or stitching issues, etc.
However, it’s about half the price as name brand houses so depending on your needs and how often you plan on using it then it might be worth taking a chance on it.
I will say you can completely disregard the 3-4 person suggestion. My Eskimo 949i is 24 inches bigger both directions and it fishes 2 adults very comfortably or 1 adult and 2 kids comfortably. Any more than that and it starts getting tight.
I wouldn’t want to fish any more than 2 people in this one you linked. Floor space goes quick when you add holes, heater, something to sit on etc.
So I live here in NE Ohio where our ice fishing can be hit and miss. And the season can be pretty short.
A budy of mine bought one of these for use on a small sheltered body of water. And it held up decently for that. Now, do I think it would hold up to the abuse and wind up on the Western end of Lake Erie in 5-25 mph winds?? Probably not very long.
But if you’re fishing somewhere that is sheltered from a lot of wind. And took it easy on it, you’d probably get your $$$ worth out of it. But its clear not the quality you’re going to see in tents 2 or 3x’s the money you’d spend on a better name tent.
Essentially you’re getting what you pay for.
I have the 2-3 person and so far it’s held up well. Easy to erect and take down. Plenty of space for one and decent space for 2….3 would be a little crowded.
I have the same one, bought it 6 years ago.
It’s held up well, the ice anchors are so good I use them for my Eskimo 450XD.
It’s not inherently warm, no insulation, but it will get you out of the wind.
I could fish 3 in when my kids were little, but it’s really for 2.
