Hi- beginner fisherman here.
I’m traveling to grand Caymen for a short trip and I’d love to go fishing on a couple mornings and enjoy the ocean views.
I was planning on bringing my collapsible fishing rod, a couple lures chat gpt told me to get (see in picture) and a very simple bait and tackle bot my rod came with.
Any advice on how to set myself up best for success? Catching anything would be epic!!
(I’m working on a fishing journal and I’d love to make an entry from this trip!)

Personally I’m not a fan of spoons but it really depends what you’re targeting. If you want a spoon I’d probably go with gold. Can never go wrong with some soft plastics and or jigs tho! 🙂
I love a kastmaster
Pretty universal lure. You can catch fish anywhere with them
It’s been about 20 years since I was on Grand Cayman, but I did fish there. I would try to get to North West part of the island. I used to fish by the turtle sanctuary ( it was a turtle farm when I started), and south of there is a boat launch. That spoon will work. Bring some other tackle, stuff you are familiar with, and a leader. I did the same in Belize and Costa Rica this past year. Best of luck, post pics!
