This is my first planted tank, and I’m pretty happy with it so far. Are there any changes I should make before adding a betta (it’ll be a couple weeks because the tank is still cycling) My main concern would be the intensity of the filter, I replaced the pump with a low flow one but there is still definitely a current, and since its’s not a HOB filter I’m not sure how to baffle it.
p.s the tank is 7.1 gallons (but more like 5 because the built in filter takes up a portion of the back) and I do have a heater.

  1. EDIT: Sorry! I didn’t see it wasn’t a HOB filter, so ignore these tips. For what it’s worth, some current isn’t bad, you just don’t want it so strong that it pushes the fish down/away

You can baffle the filter with a variety of objects. I’ve seen people use sponge on the edge of the filter, water bottles cut in half and zip tied to the filter, suction-cup soap dishes. Searching up a filter baffle will also give you lots to choose from
