Yeah, should be fine, make sure you got a good reel. I use the bass pro micro lite rods just for fun but if you don’t mind my asking what type of catfish you going for?

It’s rated to throw up to 1 1/2oz. That weight is considered on the light side but if you’re fishing very still waters, like no running current, you could get away with it.
This rod is probably designed to throw lures.

i will say no only because with catfishing you are going to want at minimum a 3oz sinker to keep your rig in place on slow moving water, and usually 2oz for lakes/ponds when using Santee Copper rigs or other float rigs with cut bait; that rod will handle the weight of your regular ole channel catfish on a very light rig Carolina rig setup for bass fishing but there are some very big blue catfish out there (and flatheads) that could test the limits of that rod; thing is you can get a catfish rod for $70 from Catch the Fever that can handle 2 to 10oz rigs and +50 pound blue catfish without blinking, that Victory is like a $250 rod treat it nice…
