First Time Surf Fishing in SE Louisiana & a PB Drum. What a Feeling!

Have lived in SE Louisiana for over a decade but had never done any surf fishing out here. Mostly bass fishing or fishing from Lake Pontchartrain piers. Today I made the trip down to Elmers Island and landed this beast of a drum. Easily the biggest fish of any species I’ve ever caught. Unfortunately I didn’t have a tape measure or a fish weighing device but he was a big boy (size 12 croc for scale 😆). He put up a good fight and it was a blast! Will definitely be surf fishing more often!
