Between my husband and I, we couldn’t find Jalapeño all day but just chalked it up to it being a very heavy planted tank and he’s just sharking around but then my husband found him. He somehow got himself in the shrimp house and stuck in a hole and we had to cut it off of him. He isn’t doing well, he looks rough. We have a catappa leaf in there with low flow, dimmed lights, co2 off, checked water and it’s still good parameters.
Is there anything else we can do? He’s my main man and I’m so sad. My emotional pregnant self cannot stop crying.

Seachem Stressguard will increase his slime coat to prevent infection of wounds & promote healing
make sure he doesnt stop eating & feed high protein food if needed to make sure he doesnt lose any mass as well while healing! Maintaing overall health & immune system is key!
Careful not to overfeed, though. Clean water is more important. Expect him to actually look worse later but that is normal. He might like a leaf to rest on on a betta log.
This might be a silly question, but turning the lights off for a while can help reduce stress for other kinds of injured animals. Would this help a betta maybe?
So he was drowning?
Is he swimming yet?
You might consider preemptively ordering some kanaplex or other antibiotic that can be put in the water the second you see the wound looking worse in any way. Better to have it on hand and not need it than to need it and have to wait 24 h and risk sepsis once you are concerned.
