So I have had my boy Moon for a few months now and he has never been super active, he always just floats up the top of the tank on his side, he will swim around when I feed him but other than that he is like the photo.
Is he sick, what can I do?

i don’t know the most about betta diseases but is his eye okay? it looks quite puffy
Do you have a water heater, plants, hiding places for him? Other than sickness- those are some pretty common reasons for lethargy. Also- have you checked the water parameters recently?

Sorry for the terrible photo the lighting is shocking!
I have just gotten rid of a plant and going to get a new one, I used to have another one in there which was quite big
Get him a floating log so he can stay near the top.
I said in another post that I mounted the floating log to an acrylic jewelry stand and mine sits on that all the time. All he has to do is stick his head up to get air. He’s healthy and there are bettas who like to just hang out in places. He would be more comfortable to have something to sit on. Keep an eye on him for something else but he could just be bored.
What are your water parameters?
Take another picture of your tank from the front. I don’t see any live plants in your tank, so your betta can actually rest on something. Betta with long fins get tired easily and need something to rest on. Live plants help the water parameters in your tank to stay safe. I just see a wooden log and that is unacceptable. The temperature in your tank needs to be 80 degrees at least. If it’s not, it causes a lot of health issues with a betta in the long run. I always suggest an adjustable heater you can get on Amazon.
Also, what do you feed your betta and how much do you feed your betta? The amount you feed should only be the size of their eye. You should only feed once a day.
If he eats well, and moves for food then he is probably fine, just bored, consider adding some betta enrichment toys for him and his favorite treats to get him interested, something to get him moving, alternatively if the flow of your filter is high they can tend to be more reserved to save energy, I have a male betta in a 20gal community tank and he frequently lays sideways on my turtle ramp and floating plants, under the UVB heat lamp near the surface of the water to seemingly avoid the filter flow and take a break from swimming maybe even warm up a little, too much water movement can tire them out and if thats the case for moon then he probably just wants a nice place to hang out and avoid the flow, or the filter flow turned down a bit if possible or applicable, ( not sure if you have a filter).
