Weeks 1-4: Cycling, crank up heat to 82, inject plenty of oxygen, added fritzyme bacteria, wait for the ADA aqua soil to stabilize and not be an ammonia bomb. Regular water changes and watch parameters.
Weeks 5-6: Ammonia and Nitrite finally zero. Plants go in, lower temps to 78. Blast an ungodly amount of CO2 lights on for 12 hours. Dose ferts and use excel and hydrogen peroxide to spot treat algae while plants establish.
Week 7: Plants are showing good growth and no algae spotted. Reduce CO2 and light period to 6 hours. 20 Amano shrimps go in.
Today week 8: Shrimps are doing well and parameters are spotless. 20 CPD go in.
Observe health and parameters for the next couple weeks then it’s time to pick out a betta friend.
