This is my little lady Bijou that I got with my boyfriend recently. When we got her, she was pale yellow with horizontal black stripes. Now she looks like this. Very vibrant and lovely. She is peaceful and gets along well with my ADFs. We were discussing what kind of betta she is because she does not look like the normal ones you see at the pet store. Her label said “halfmoon female”. My bf thought that she could maybe be a betta imbellis or smaragdina. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Not a wild type betta, but a very lovely domestic nonetheless! Will be interesting to see how her colors develop. 🙂
She does have the wild betta look. I was reading that short fins tend to live a lot longer.
