i woke up today and my fish looks like he has dropsy his gills also look HUGE compared to a couple days ago he lives in a 5 gallon planted tank the temperature stays at 79 fahrenheit and the parameters are good i checked them ammonia is 0 ph is 8 nitrites are 0 and nitrates are between 5-10 ppm is it bacterial or a parasite? idk what to do he’s in a hospital tank right now and i put aquarium salt in is there anything else i can do??

If you can get access to Kanaplex asap you can try treating him with that. Keep water clean and follow the instructions. You can also try epson salt baths to relieve any swelling.

Immediate epsom salt bath to start if you can, no fragrance
