Finally found a decent pocket of them off the jettie today, mostly dinks but a couple slabs mixed through.

Honest question… When you’re fishing from the jetties for surf perch, do you pick a spot on the jetty and cast along the beach/perpendicular to the jetties,like your reeling towards the rocks, or do you cast along the jetty and reel towards the beach? I’ve had success both ways, but I’m pretty sure one way is more successful than the other.

Right on! How do you like the okuma rockaway travel rod? I’m between that and the okuma voyager (more expensive tho)

So fun! Just fyi, try to hold them with wet a hand, removing their slime coat with the towel or glove lessens their chance for survival upon release & they become easier prey.

I’m jealous right now. It’s 11 degrees out hit now and I’m sitting on my couch with a cul of coffee waiting for this snow storm to hit. I can’t wait for this spring to come to start chasing stripers again.
