Found these in the small clear water creek behind our house. Very fun to explore and have spotted various nymphs, insects etc but these are a first. Look different from cased caddis I’ve seen before but I assume they must be?

  1. Most of the cased caddis in my area are Grannom (Brachycentrus) and use leaves and vegetation to build their case, and that is probably what you are used to seeing. But there are species that use sand/pebbles, which looks to be the case (no pun intended) here.
