My wife knew I had interest in learning to fly fish, how well did she do? We have a pond at the farm, but I eventually plan to use this on my 14’ boat for some inshore saltwater fishing. What can I get to improve my saltwater itch?

6 weight, perfect bass rod and larger river trout rod. Can absolutely get it done with smaller inshore saltwater species, typically 7 wt seem to be the minimum for a salt specific rod.
It depends entirely on what you are trying to target in the salt and where. Rod weights are chosen based off the size of the average fish your catching, the size/weight of your fly, and how much wind you expect to be battling against. Bonefish seem to range in a 7-9 wt range, redfish 7-10, striper 7-10, tarpon 9-12, etc
