I want to like this reel, light and powerful. However it casts like dog shit. With the same lure it does half the distance as a tranx 301. I’ve tried every setting under the sun to try and get this thing to cast. I’m pretty good at thumbing the spool so I’ve even tried with no brakes and tension knob almost all the way off same results. Think it’s going to be sold or relegated to jigging

To be fair, you’re comparing a Ford to a Ferrari here. I haven’t had the Fathom but the TranX is honestly just an incredible reel.
