Betta public places… 😭
But I decided to share because gatekeeping ❌ And I believe sharing is love. I really like to video small things, because it's another world entirely. I wish to share with you this view on my camera. Please enjoy!
Commentary:
High up in the bubble nest, and about 36 hours after spawning, the eggs start to hatch into tiny fry with the size no bigger than a needle. 2 black discs – eyes – peer into the seemingly endless column of water. Occasionally, Daddy swims past and they are being buffeted by a large current of water. 🌊 They hang with their tails down. In the middle of their bodies are the remains of the egg yolk, a nutritious source of energy that continues to fuel their growth till everything is absorbed.
If you look closely, you could even see their small hearts, beating relentlessly, circulating oxygen through their tiny bodily system.
On the top of their heads, they produce a sticky substance, that allows them to cling to anything; tank glass, bubble with surface tension and even drifting matter in the tank.
And fall from the bubblenest, they will. But everytime, they will swim their way up and attempt to stick. Otherwise, Daddy will come to the rescue.
This is a tough struggle and survival against gravity, some do not make it.
After 2-3 days, the yolk is fully absorbed and they finally swim horizontally. From then on, the Dad is removed from the fry to recover from his gruelling ordeal.
End note:
I'm very pleased with the video. 😄

Thank you for all the information. I did not know that they have a sticky substance on their heads. I love their precious dark eyes.
