So this is my little guy Benito! I got him in August and have been adding more live plants to his tank little by little. He seems very active and super friendly. I’m just worried I’m still not doing enough as I’ve had two other bettas in the past two years eventually die of bad fin rot on me 🥺 hoping I can prevent that from happening to him also.

  1. The tank is way too small an plastic can hurt him or rip his fins, go do some research.

He’s beautiful! You should get this boy the home he deserves. Betas are very active and loveee to explore. Therefore, they need a lot more space than people think. You should get him at least a ten gallon. The weird shaped tanks aren’t good. It gives the fish way less space to swim than in a normal tank. Also, if those are anubius on the bottom, you need to get them out of the substrate asap.

Here’s my boy Ghibli in his 20 long. He utilizes every single inch of his tank.

I’d get a 20 long for his tank. Then you could add Cory’s and some peaceful schooling fish

Ive read the comments and id just like to say you are doing the right thing OP by upgrading your betta fishes tank to a 10 gallon. most people don’t even want to acknowledge they’re wrong. many stores give false information on bettas and give small tanks like this. I genuinely believe if you upgrade your betta with be so happy
