Thought it might be a whitening, but the fins don’t seem to match. Caught between St.Aug and Palm Coast, 50 degrees out, caught in inlet on 4.5” white paddle tail. Couldn’t get an ID unfortunately so I wasn’t sure of regulations, had to let him swim back home.

Looks more like a bluefish but I don’t fish saltwater so that’s just a guess
Blue fish and you gotta be careful with them. They’ll take a finger!
One fish, two fish, red fish,….I forgot the rest.
It’s best to know what you have before killing it, could end up with a big fine if you take out of season.
You really need to work on id if you’re confusing bluefish with whiting lol. That would’ve been a state record whiting
