this little man was laying at the bottom of his 1gal tank at the LFS, listed for $45. copper koi plakat. i asked the woman if, with his bloat, she’d reduce the price, and she gave him to me for free.
im naming him phoenix, as he’s orange. and im hoping he’ll ride from the ashes.
im seeing white on his gills and hes definitely bloated. currently going to fast for 2 days and introduce him to 1-2 pellets per day to hopefully get his bloat down.
he was supposedly at the LFS for 3-4 months… poor guy. he’s now in my 5gal planted tank with a baby ramshorn infestation but otherwise all by himself.
any advice or ideas about his gills and green mouth? not seeing anything floaty and no raised scales, just… pale and stressed.

im not thinking swim bladder because he has no problem swimming, moreso lack of energy, complete lethargy. laying still on the bottom of the tank. he moves quickly when disturbed.
