Just picked up a kayak for cheap and only have a seat to go with it.
Gonna get paddles and a life vest. Anything else you'd recommend getting sorted before i take it out?

Buy the stuff below then stop and take out the kayak:
-Carbon fiber paddle, lighter and not cold to touch.
-Comfortable PFD(spend money here. Its an investment in your life)
-Saftey knife
-Saftey whistle
Rod and reel – 7ft is generally considered ideal for a kayak. Bass rods are good. Trolling rod buts are kinda long and get in the way.
Once you’re on the water you’ll figure out what you need to fish the way you enjoy without ending up with a bunch of gear you don’t use.
Later:
Fish finder?
Storage?(diy crate, yakattack, homedepot box)
Trolling rod holder?
Anchor?(arguably saftey gear)
Surf booties?
