Betta Fish: An ode to a deformed betta

Oh sweet little Rey, the “rescue” betta from a questionable cup. This poor little guy is on week two of being home and improving everyday. For the first several days he only floated on his side and skimmed the surface. By day four he started doing zoomies. After a week I moved him from the quarantine tank to shrimp world, knowing he was no threat to his shrimpy friends. The shrimp are entirely unfazed and Rey spends most of his time holding on for dear life in the floaters. I do have to carefully hand feed him as his buoyancy is an issue. But he’s cute as a button and has settled in nicely.
