Betta Fish: Here’s my newest betta, Zen. He’s super chill.

After a lengthy hiatus from keeping bettas following the sudden loss of my previous betta, I finally got this new betta boi.

Zen is the perfect community betta, and a most handsome boi. He’s a Rose-Ear Plakat, who loves napping, eating, and peacefully watching his tankmates swim around him. He doesn’t flare or show any of the typical betta anger/aggression (unless one of the smaller fish violates his personal space, then he’ll kind of shoo them away). He’s even very polite to my female Samurai Gourami, Zorya. At most, they kind of give each other the side eye before going their own separate ways, but sometimes I catch them hanging out around each other.

He’s also quite goofy sometimes and likes to sit in dramatic poses… 😅
