I got Bunny maybe two months ago. I quarantined him for over a week and added betafix and tannins from boiling drift wood. I added the drift into the tank and then added Bunny back in. I feel like the tears got worse. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do next? I feel so bad for my little fella. I turned down the water flow and added a pathos plant to have the roots block some of the water flow. I keep the tank at 78° and have bananas leafs in the tank. Is there something else I can try?

Idk how to edit the post.
The tank is a 10 gallon. I don’t know the parameters of the water but I ordered test strips. The tank is about a month old. I change about 20% of the water weekly by adding the tap water fix stuff and letting it sit out for a day. I have two mystery snails in the tank with him. I have a pathos and two other plants in the tank that I checked are beta safe before adding them. I give him like 5 beta food pellets a day.

  2. That’s such a cute name ! I believe you can check the sharpness/roughness of things by running something like pantyhose over them. Basically if it feels sharp or jagged to you it might possibly be the cause.
Plus bettas love to get themselves in crevices and lay on stuff, my boy Cupid sleeps on top of the algae magnet or the heater and it makes me so nervous lol I have soooo many nice plants for him and he doesn’t care

Okay first of all he is gorgeous. I’ve used betta fix which is melaleuca oil essentially and it healed my bettas fins so quickly. Notice his emotions to see if it’s fin rot and how he holds his other fins. (Open or clamped)
