He literally does this for hours, in the same spot. It’s a newish tank, 7 days old. No nitrate, no nitrite, no ammonia, good PH and alkalinity. It’s a 10 gallon, planted, with 4 snails. 8 hours of light a day.
I caught him sleeping against the filter last night, but honestly he swims around as he pleases – per the end of the video – so I know it’s not too strong. He also lodges himself and swims back and forth between the glass and the plant to the right as well.
I’ll add some videos in the comments.
TLDR; Fish keeps lodging himself and never leaving this side.

Heater – 78 degrees
Last water change was 3-4 days ago
Fasted him yesterday, fed him 3 pellets today, and he ate my two shrimp the days before. (Why I fasted)
I’m not an expert but my guess is glass surfing
He’s got energy to burn. Put a colorful rubber thing on a chopstick or something and let him chase it around.
It feels good if they think their fins are heavy. I have a male that has long fins that does it but wrapping around the filter intake, so we have to maintain quality conditions since his fins get damaged as a result.
Your tank shouldn’t have no nitrate. Otherwise it means it’s not cycled and doesn’t have bacteria to process fish waste.
Is he new to the tank??
