Hello everyone!
Making this post to ask for some advice.
Yesterday i brought home a betta and two snails, who where kept in one of those tiny plastic aquariums at some relatives house. When I asked, they told me they were bought not long ago and that I could "just take them" as they were already bored of them…
They also gave me some food (dajana betta pellets) and something that I think is a water conditioner called "blackwater betta".
There are no specialized acquarium shops near me, but there is one that sells reptiles and had some supplies, so i managed to find a 20L acquarium (plus filter and heater), some live plants (anubias) and a piece of wood. I had some other stuff left over from when I had an acquarium as a kid (sand, rocks, an algae scraper and a net).
I already ordered online
– A water testing kit (Aquili test 5 in 1)
– A rapid starter (Oase kikstart filter tabs)
– Frozen mysis
– Frozen daphnia
– Frozen cyclops
– Duckweed
Which will be delivered in 2/3 days.
The fish was swimming around a lot yesterday, but today is less active and has refused food both days (he puts the pellet in is mouth, but then spits it out).
The heater is set at 22°C
Does he look ok? What can I do in the meantime? And anything else I should get/be aware of to improve?
I live in Italy, if it can help.
Thank you all in advance!

Have you cycled the tank at all?
Also can you answer the questions from automod?
It’s quite possible that the water is high in nitrite/nitrate. Between a lack of filter and what sounds like not having the time to cycle the tank, lethargy and not eating are tell tale signs that Parameters are off. I would check that as soon as possible
You can change our 25%-50% water daily.
Temp should be at 78-82 fahrenheit if possible. A spong filter can work fine.
You’re doing a cycle with the fish in the aquarium it seems.
The fish is gorgeous, BTW.
