The day has come when our beloved Ella has passed away at the age of 4 🙁
I got her as a moving-in present for my partner when he moved onto campus for university our first year so that he’d have someone to keep him company (but secretly I wanted another aquarium and he’s my enthusiastic enabler).
She lived life to the fullest, and in her later years took up guppy fry hunting for sport (her favourite snack).
She thrived while we struggled through nearly four years of university, she won over the hearts of my parents who fed her over summer breaks, and was the center piece of every room her aquarium was placed in.
She will be missed, and may she enjoy the great big pond.
Though I knew her time had been coming for a while now, it breaks my heart to see everyone else’s bettas now that she’s gone, so I will retire from this subreddit for a bit, but I will be back in the future. Thanks for all your advice and support through the years:)
