Texas Parks and Wildlife released 600 rainbows at my local lake on 12/6/25. The lake is approximately 1500 acres, 2.5 square miles. They released the fish at the far north end, where a river feeds the lake.
I caught this guy at the far south end near the spillway, completely by accident. I was bottom fishing with night crawlers going for bluegill or catfish.
Totally caught me by surprise – this guy had travelled the entire length of the lake since being released.
This is my first ever rainbow, pretty excited!
