So a little context, I mostly fish for catfish and hybrids from my kayak in West Texas. I don’t consistently catch 20 plus pounders or anything but I consistently catch 10+, so I like something that I can feel the fight of eater sized fish.
I’ve had 7’ MH Spinning GX2’s since I’ve gotten into this hobby about 8 years ago and they’ve done great despite me pushing the limit of what their “restrictions” are. I regularly suspend 4 oz weights and cast 2 oz weights (I gently cast obviously) with 30# mono.
My question is do y’all think the Elite would do as good or better in same conditions? I saw the previous gen was on sale for $51 now but I can’t find anywhere here where I can hold one. Just wanted some input before I bought 6 of them.

Absolute beast of a catfish congratulations is it a PB?
GX2 is certainly more stout- would go with that for catfish.
