Working through the winter projects and thought I’d post my keel guard install.

Materials

– KYDEX Thermoform Sheet

– Jigsaw

– Heat gun

– Clamps

– GOOP Marine Adhesive

– Loctite Silicone waterproof sealant

First used a piece of paper to create a template for the Kydex. Traced the template onto the Kydex and used a jig saw to cut. Heated the Kydex to mold to the keel. Had to create some relief cuts using box cutter blade to get flush fit around the angles. Used jigsaw again to remove some extra material after relief cuts. Put a generous amount of Goop on Kydex and the keel. Attached the Kydex and used clamps to allow for 48 hour cure. Once cured, went around all the edges with silicone to prevent any water getting in between Kydex and hull. Another 48 hours to cure and done.
