A buddy and I had quite the conversation today. We were fishing a small pond, and as we made a few casts, a dude from shore throws some big stones right in water. It’s rude, but we chose to say nothing until the stones were continuously thrown. I asked why he was doing very politely and asked if he could please maybe do it a little bit farther from us. He acknowledged what I said, but didn’t say anything back. Me and my friend speculate he spent the next 20 minutes thinking of ways to get after us so as we were leaving, he accused us of casting trouble hooks at ducks and just using trouble hooks to snag in general, which is pretty funny cause we are using little tiny spoons. Even threatened to call the DNR agent on us for trying to catch ducks in his words. We told that’s quite the claim. I also explained no treble hooks were used. This man then tailgated me on the highway exit home. Very scary. Always deescalate!

Harassing fishermen is illegal in many states and provinces, doesn’t hurt to report it if this happens again.
It’s against the law to harass a fisherman you should’ve called the cops
