Got out on the river for a couple hours and hit a flow state. Cast, mend, set the hook. The fish were stacked up and eager for my flies. I took a nice wild brown home for dinner and a whitefish for tomorrow’s breakfast. I usually practice catch and release, but I do enjoy a fish fresh off the river time to time, and there’s something special about harvesting them on the flyrod with patterns from my vise.
