I have a 5.5 gallon tank with some sort of orange growth in the tank.
I have done water changes the PH is really high (dont know how to fix that). Attached is a photo. All the fish are healthy and happy the orange growth is thick and dense on the bottom of the tank and on the sponge filter.
Any ideas on how to fix this?or do I break down the tank and redo it?

TBH it looks like mulm, which is an accumulation of decomposing fish waste and decaying plant material. What are your water parameters? Also, what is your water change schedule like? Do you vacuum the substrate?
That’s mulm
I have questions, and none are meant to be judgemental.
How old is your tank? How long did you cycle your tank for? When you do water changes, how much are you changing? And with what kind of water? Also, when you do water changes, are you vacuuming up the mulm as well? I’m seeing a lot of mulm build-up. High amounts of mulm build up sky-rockets your PH.
Edit: Also, is your filter halfway buried in the substrate? And your heater is just….chilling on the substrate as well?
Is that a floating potato or radish?
Is your substrate iron perhaps?
