I think setting up his tank, cycling, acclimating, and getting to know his personality and take care of him has been one of the most grounding and rewarding experiences I have had in a long time, and he’s only been here for a week. I’ve never felt more ready to wake up at 8 AM every morning. He seems pleased with the circumstances, that’s all that matters to me.

(He ate my ramshorn snails, but that’s okay. He’s still a good boy.)

Here’s his full set-up. I’ll raise the water level once I do a water change tomorrow, I just wanted to determine whether he was a flight risk or not with my current lid. It seems like it’s flush enough of a fit for there to be no issue, though! Ten gallons (probably only 8.5-9 in it currently) and cycled beforehand 🙂 I’m planning on getting some floaters for him next month, for shade and extra lounging spots.
