I’m looking for a reel for saltwater fishing that can handle around 40-45 pounds and i found this Daiwa on amazon. I heard good things about Daiwa’s so I’m considering buying this one. Are there better options out there for around 80 bucks ? And are these specific reels good?

  1. This is not a sealed reel and will not be good long-term in saltwater. The cheapest Daiwa reel that is sealed and could work is the Fuego, and that’s priced around $110 dollars. I’ve seen them on sale at my local tackle shop for less than $100 before, but you’re generally not going to find anything truly saltwater rated for less than $100 dollars.
