We have two six gallon long tanks directly next to each other. One to the left has only red ramshorn snails in it for the last two months, but a Betta arrives Friday for it. The one on the right has had bladder and assassin snails for two months, but Sunday I finally added three Endler fish.

They've been doing fine and this morning check all three were roaming the tank just fine. After lunch I did another check, and thought I was seeing his reflection thru back of the glass, but no, he somehow made it out of the six on the right with his two bros and ended up in the six on the left. I really thought I had the water levels low enough jumping wouldn't be a concern.

Just a funny I wanted to share. We'll get a cover for the tanks to prevent any mishaps in the future since they seem inclined for it.

  1. I have two large tanks full of endlers, and I’ve never had a jumper. The two tanks aren’t right next to each other, admittedly, so maybe they only go for the big jumps when they see a target?

Are they all males? Never underestimate the drive of a male endler to find a female.

talent! i feel like building walls up in the directions you dont want them to jump but leaving it possible to do what he did is like. enrichment. bettas are also jumpers, thats so fun.
