Dozens of peacock bass have been dying in this pond in Pompano Beach, FL. There has been an algal bloom that I thought might be related. Also, the cold front a few weeks ago forced quite a few iguana to drown in the pond and they have just been floating there since then it seems. Maybe bacteria from the rotting iguanas is causing it somehow? I really don’t know.

    Oops, I forgot to mention the sheen I saw on the surface in pic 2, but there is not much of it

  2. They are a tropical species and do not tolerate low water temperatures. They will die when the water drops below 60 degrees F.
