Designed this because I have a 20 gallon high already and I am building a new 75 gallon in a few weeks. I wasn’t happy with anything online and I talked the wife into letting me build it. 2nd picture is the weight bearing structure done. 4 4×4 posts at each corner with heavy machinery leveling feet, 2×6 top frame, 2×4 bottom frame, 2×4 jack studs, and a 3/4 inch red oak plywood skin. I still need to finish the front, been debating between cabinets or shelves on either side of the 20 gallon on the bottom.

  1. I’m always nervious when i see the first pic and think “all the weight is on the screws” then i see you put the addtional studes.

  2. Your tanks weight is resting on the screws not the 4x4s you need to rebuild this. And unless this is a peninsula you usually want an open back for wiring and such

  3. wishihadplates on

Not sure what your plans are but a hole saw and some grommets will help a ton with cord management and keeping things looking clean.
