So I’m a pretty experienced angler but I’m usually a power fisherman, typically use a lot of M/MH/H rod setups. I have these two smaller size reels that I would like to setup for panfish and occasional bass. The Sahara 1000 is slightly bigger than the plueger president 20. What length and power rods would be perfect for these?

6’6 or 7’ medium light fast action would be a good option. If you’re going to be using one for alot of ned rigging and finesse presentations you may want to look into an extra fast action tip. I use a plueger president xt with an 1000 size reel creek wading for smallies and it’s the perfect size/strength

Light or ultralight.
But I’d feel the rod and not order a rod. Too many ultralights are buggy whips. We catch a fair amount of bass and catfish while fishing crappie.
Personally I like a little back bone and a light tip.
