I should start out by saying I DID NOT DO THIS. I live in a neighborhood with a pond out with multiple grass carp in there. It was stocked 20+ years ago and I would say only 5 remain maximum. (They can’t reproduce) as I was fishing the pond I came upon this, unmistakeable carp scales around 20 of them. I was dumbfounded and felt horrible for it. But it simply isn’t possible for it to get there on its own, so someone else must’ve done this. I saw a bit on a scooter fishing which is very unusual since I’m the only one who fishes the pond. Only old people live here and I’m the youngest and I am one of the only kids in the neighborhood. I assume the kid did it since yesterday they weren’t there. So I guess my question is 1. Will the carp be okay 2. Do carp typically do this when caught and 3. What could the kid possibly have done(assuming he did it)

If the ground or air are much colder than the air they could have stress flopped whilst the “angler” was trying to get the hook out. Similar things happen when handling gar in USA, mat or not.
