The trout was just floating in shallow water (Costa Rica), didn’t react to my nymph touching it, grabbed my net and caught it, it didn’t even flinch. Looked blue almost gray. The skin looks cracked.
Looks ill, any idea of what it is?

Not a fish biologist, but there could be a multitude of reasons why that fish passed. It could have been sick of course (disease or maybe parasites etc) but also poor handling, the stress of being caught, environmental conditions, or simply not being able to meet its own needs are also possibilities. IIRC you can generally report it to your mnr/dnr and they will look into what’s happening if it’s a common occurrence in that water body.
