Betta Fish: male or female?

hello! I recently got a hellboy plakat betta that was labeled as a male in the store. after having him for a few days though, im having some doubts. he just looks so much smaller than what the adult male hellboys look like! is he just a young male betta or is he a she? 😭 any help would be appreciated! sorry for the blurry photos, he/she zips around way too quick for me to follow.
