Caught this bass today, about 18" and 3lb 4oz. First one I've caught through the ice in my life (I'm 35) lol. Pretty strange, we were in about 5ft of water and about 15" of ice, close to the champlain bridge between NY and VT on lake champlain. My understanding is that bass typically go a bit deeper in the winter but not this one lol. Not bass season here though 😢. It only went in the bucket while I checked the regulations lol. Hooked it through the lip so it was fine to go back. Using hand lines and small minnows.
