Trying to identify this betta!
About a year ago, I took in this fish without knowing much about it. I’ve kept wild bettas (Mandor and Mahachaiensis) in the past, and I’m guessing this little guy might be one too. My best guess is coccina complex because of the bright blue eyes and small size (~1.2 inches), so I’ve been trying to keep the pH low, lights dim, and the tank stocked with botanicals. First pic is him today and second pic is awhile back with stress lines :/
Any thoughts on the species and sex of this little guy?

Mouthbrooders look like little hot dogs…I don’t know unfortunately, beyond being pretty sure its a mouthbrooder, but very handsome little fish.
Possibly a Betta rutilan?
