My betta buddy ‘Flo’ loves the bubbling area near the filter. I always thought bettas hated strong currents. He’s building bubble nests, surfing the ripples and basking around that area. Wondering if this might be lack of oxygen or something.

Flo is 4 to 5 months old. A marbled hmpk.

Tank has been running for three weeks. It was cycled prior to flo. Got flo after two weeks.

  1. It’s never going to be a lack of oxygen when it comes to Bettas. Bettas are well suited to stagnant low o2 pools. They have an organ that effectively serves as lungs, and a betta will go to the surface and gulp air into this organ.

Bettas are silly little derp fish and will play in bubble columns.
