Can you tell us what lights you are using on this tank? I find lights so confusing!

I have a question, I started a 40 gallon planted tank with loads of plants in it. I also started a small 15 gallon. I did a fishless cycle on the 15 gallon and it went great! the ammonia started in the aquarium and then the nitrite came in, and all of the sudden spiked, and went straight down to 0 as did the ammonia and turned into nitrate. For whatever reason, I put fish in, and the beneficial bacteria couldn't keep up. I kept adding seacam prime, but the amonia often is at .25 ppm. I'm nor adding prime and amguard everyday, and keep adding the benificial bacteria every now and then. How can I complete the cycle? The other one I'm doing a fish in cycle, and kinda have the same situation going on in it.

What clean up crew would you put in a planted tank with angelfish and electric blue acara?

my big concern at this point is my plant choices at start up. will I kill mosses and certain plants using hard water. I live in phoenix arizona love your vids and would like some suggestions for plant types to start my cycle and get things balanced

new fan here! Im a saltwater and reef enthusiast and you gave me inspiration to start a small betta tank and man, I might be switching my big tank over to freshwater.

I've been watching your videos since you started in your backyard shed (wow, it's been a long time since). I have kept a fish tank since I was little, with losses and success. I learned new things with your videos and I put them into practice to see if that works for me too. I love this tank. For me, it is too crowded, but that is just a matter of what you like and how you enjoy keeping a mixed tank. My only problem now is that I love Nymphoides hydrophylla 'Taiwan' but I cannot find it near my location, not too many dealers of big branded plants here. I'll keep looking for that one in particular. You do not call yourself a professional, but your tanks look amazing, and you obtain great results. That's what matters. Keep the good work is working fine for you.
