"Finally upgrading the trolling motor setup on my boat to 24V. If you’ve ever tried fishing through thick lily pads like the ones in my photo, you know a single 12V motor just doesn't have the torque—it's a nightmare.

I grabbed two LiTime 100Ah lithiums to get it done, but man, I was paranoid about the ""balancing"" issue. I’ve been lurking on too many forums seeing guys cook their banks because one battery was sitting at 13.5V and the other was struggling at 12.8V.

I spent about two hours on the phone and chat with tech support (sorry to the guy named Mark who had to deal with my 50 questions). Anyway, I wanted to share what I found out because some of the YouTube ""experts"" give some sketchy advice.

Most important thing—the ""First Date"" rule. Before you even wire them in series, you HAVE to top them off to 100% individually at 12V. If they don't start at the same baseline, your 24V charger is gonna have a nightmare trying to level them out later.

Also, they suggested checking each battery with a multimeter every few months. If they start drifting apart, something’s wrong with the wiring or a cell is getting wonky.

I'm currently debating on the charger setup though. I got a single 24V charger, but I see a lot of guys swearing by the Noco 2-bank 12V chargers even for series setups. They say it keeps them balanced better?

Is it worth the extra cabling mess to go with a multi-bank, or am I overthinking this? Just don't want to ruin $600 worth of batteries because I was lazy with the setup."
