I spent pretty much my entire 20s fishing with beat up hand me downs and whatever 20 dollar junk I could find at yard sales. For the big 30 I figured it was finally time for my first real setup.
I picked up the KastKing and tbh I am blown away. It is the most I have ever dropped on a reel and the magnesium frame makes my old gear feel like a literal brick. That titanium spool is wild. The weight or the lack of it is just night and day compared to what I am used to.
Hoping this thing actually helps me catch more than just tree branches this weekend lol. Happy birthday to me I guess.
Quick question. Since I have never owned a magnesium reel before is there anything special I need to do for maintenance? I really do not want to mess this thing up.

Just fish this reel in freshwater. Magnesium and saltwater is a bad combo.
