Out of work while i recover from surgery. Practicing pitching in the yard and figured id show yall. 20lb powerpro to 12 lb fluoro. Not a lot of heavy weeds here in ohio and feel confident in yanking a biggun out. Have caught 5lb bass on a medium light in thick stuff and Ive caught 30" steelhead in heavy rocks with similar line class and have caught many on lighter line so i dont see why this wont work. If not ill be picking up a mhf rod. Dobyns Frenzy and Okuma Stratus. Both on sale rn and could honestly be sold for 25% above msrp lol. Makes a great topwater rod too.

  1. How are the Dobyns Frenzy rods? When they first came out it seemed like they might be the Colt series blanks with cork grips.

  2. I personally like a medium heavy or just a strait heavy for pitching but nothing wrong with working with what you have.
I would avoid a dobyns fury though. I have a 7’3″ MH fury and its about as sensitive as a 2×4
it sits in a closet collecting dust now
