Plan to make a longline for bluefish, they are invasive here in Adriatic and it is supported by local goverment to remove them as much as possible.

I want to make a longline but thair sharp teeth suggest to use steel wire for hook lead but i feel like it would be much more practical to use braid or stronger mono?

They average in size here about a 1,5 to 2Kg with exceptions ofcourse.

Does anyone have any experience with these fish and is there any alternative to wire leads?

I dont have much time for trial and error.

  1. Wire. I’ve actually had them bite through thinner wire leader material. They’re very fun to catch!
