I have been at it since November/ December (not often but when I can I do). Been really struggling to find streams that weren’t frozen etc. Finally, after most of the day catching branches and retrying flies, I was about to leave but instead I tie in more tippet and the red beaded San Juan worm and on my 3rd swing I felt him hit and I about jumped out of my waders I was so happy. Then after the excitement of landing my first one I get back in and get yet another one on the 2nd swing. Wow oh wow I’m hooked for real now. If you got this far, I’m sorry for the book. Just excited about today is all.

Hell yeah first of many and a solid one at that..!
I started fishing in the winter a few years ago and my unsolicited advice will be to keep getting out there even if the conditions suck. If you can catch fish now, you’ll put yourself in a great position to really get after it in the spring/summer when the fish start to get more active.
Nice man, what were you doing? Just a dead drift under an indicator? What was the water and area like?
